Theewaterskloof Dam

The Theewaterskloof Dam is situated just outside Villiersdorp in the Western Cape.  It is one of the biggest dams in the area.  The dam has always been known for its excellent Bass fishing.  In the last few years however, some of the biggest Carp have been caught here.  The Full scale Carp, Cyprinus Carpio, was by far the biggest carp that was caught during the past season.

A tip from Chris Smith
He says..."A good spot for carp is at the Theewaters Sports Club.  I have had continued success there using mielies with Cherry Dip.  Average catch for me has been around the 3 kilo mark and usualy I land about 10-15 fish in 5 hours.  All these fish are returned to the water."

Pepe van Tonder from Worcester gave the following bait tips...
Transkaroo Mealie,  Earthworm, groundbait dipped in SA. Powder,  Boom floatie, White 'Roosmaryn' dough (degie), Groundbait dipped in 'Geel roos'.
